A masterpiece of religious faith, art and history, Notre-Dame de Paris is the cathedral church of the catholic archdiocese of Paris. It is one of the most easily recognised symbols of the French capital, and the most visited monument in France, ahead of the Eiffel Tower. The cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage site, attracting 13 million church-goers, pilgrims and tourists every year. All the major religious ceremonies for the Paris area and at a national level are held there.
The cathedral is open every day, all year round, from 8am to 6.45pm (7.15pm on Saturdays and Sundays). Admission is free.
